Plant Origin: Yugoslavia, Corsica.

Extraction Method: Steam distilled from blossoms.

The word helichrysum is named after the golden yellow flowers of the plant, and comes from the Greek words helios meaning sun and chrysos meaning gold. The common name, immortelle, also comes from the flowers, because they are long lasting blossoms that do not wither easily. 

Action:  Anticoagulant, anesthetic, bruising, burns, colds, cough, fever, dissolve hematomas (blood clots), lethargy, muscle aches and pains, nervous exhaustion, mucolytic, expectorant, antispasmodic, stimulates liver, reduces scar tissue and skin discoloration, stretch marks, sunburns, wounds. It balances blood pressure, chelates chemicals and toxins.

Traditional Uses: Helichrysum has been studied by European researchers for regenerating tissue and nerves and improving circulation and skin conditions. A widely popular oil in the perfume and skincare industries.

Indications: Hematoma (swelling or blood-filled tumor), bleeding, arteriosclerosis, atherosclerosis, hypertension, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, thrombosis, embolisms, liver disorder, phlebitis, sciatica, sinus infection, and skin conditions (eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis).

Other Uses: This oil may help blood circulation, hearing loss, pain (acute), respiratory conditions, scar tissue, and varicose veins. It may regenerate tissue, detoxify and stimulate liver cell function.

Application: Diffuse. Apply topically around the outside of the ear, the temples, the forehead, the back of the neck, or on location.
