Galbanum oil, Iran has an odor that is described by experts as “intensely green.” Spicy and herbal, it has been compared to green peppers and tossed salad. Galbanum oil is balsamic and has subtle piney notes probably due to the presence of several pinenes. Accordingly, Galbanum oil blends well with pines and evergreens.
Action: Galbanum is anti-infectious, a stimulant, supporting to the kidneys and menstruation, analgesic, and a light antispasmodic.
Traditional Uses: Mentioned in Egyptian papyri and the Old Testament (Exodus 30:34), galbanum was esteemed for its medicinal and spiritual properties. Dioscorides, an ancient Roman historian, records that galbanum was used for its antispasmodic, diuretic, and pain-relieving properties.
Indications: Abscesses, boils, wounds, inflammation.
Other Uses: Galbanum may also help with acne, asthma, bronchitis, chronic coughs, cramps, cuts, indigestion, muscular aches and pains, nervous tension, poor circulation, rheumatism, scar tissue, stress, and wrinkles.
Application: Apply topically. May be added to food or rice milk as a dietary supplement.
