The lower notes are tea like with tobacco nuances. Clary Sage oil blends well with cilantro, lavender, citrus oils and geranium and has a fixative affect. Action: Clary sage is antidiabetic, helps reduce high cholesterol, is estrogen-like, supports hormones, is anti-infectious, antifungal, antispasmodic, relaxing, antibacterial, and may help with epilepsy, menopause, and PMS. Traditional Uses: The name "clary" sage came from the nickname "clear eyes," given in the Middle Ages, because of its ability to cure eye conditions. Indications: Bronchitis, cholesterol, hemorrhoids, hormonal imbalance, insomnia, intestinal cramps, menstrual cramps, PMS, pre-menopause, and weak digestion. Other Uses: Clary sage oil may be used for menstrual problems, depression, headaches, dandruff, insect bites, insomnia, kidney disorder, dry skin, throat infections, ulcers, circulatory problems, and whooping cough.
